Ep 086: You Aren't Enough...and That's Okay

Sep 28, 2026  •  Jesse Hailey, Michael Moos, McKenzie Banks

“You are enough.” “Believe in yourself.” “You can do anything you put your mind to.”

It sounds encouraging, but is that actually what the Bible teaches?

In this episode, we're talking about why realizing that we aren't enough might actually be one of the most freeing things we can understand.

Some of us struggle with insecurity and constantly feel like we don't measure up. Others struggle on the opposite end, putting confidence in our own intelligence, work ethic, personality, success, appearance, abilities, or determination. We start believing that everything we've accomplished is because we worked hard enough, were talented enough, or simply made better choices.

But what do we actually have that we didn't first receive from God?

We talk about the difference between confidence and pride, why we can't be our own savior, who deserves the credit for the good things in our lives, and where Christians should actually find their confidence.

The answer to low self esteem isn't simply thinking more highly of yourself, and the answer to pride isn't thinking you're worthless. Both need the same thing: to get our eyes off ourselves and onto Christ.

You don't have to be enough. You need the One who is.
