Ep 084: What Makes You Different? And Why Does That Matter?

What started as a random icebreaker turned into a whole conversation about our personalities, our quirks, our differences, and why God made us the way He did.

God didn't make us all the same. We each have different personalities, strengths, interests, experiences, and gifts, yet Scripture tells us that we are all part of one body in Christ. Sometimes there may be nothing else that would naturally bring two people together, but when we have Christ in common, we have something worth loving about one another.

We also talk about where we look for confidence. There are really three places we can try to find it: in ourselves, in the approval of other people, or in the approval of God. As Christians, our confidence cannot ultimately come from how impressive we are, how other people see us, or whether we fit in. It has to come from knowing who we are in Christ and living fully surrendered to Him.

Our differences don't have to divide us. When Christ is what unites us, our differences can actually become part of what makes the body of Christ beautiful.

So yes, we poke fun at each other, admit how different we are, and question whether we'd actually choose to be friends outside of the podcast. 😂 But underneath all of that is a pretty meaningful truth: God has brought us together, and we can love one another because of Him.
